Still trying to figure out how you are going to bring in the New Year? Think no more - how about a little Fire and Ice...Cream! Blow your guests away with an over the top performance and taste. Cherries Jubilee topped with, no - not vanilla, MERCER'S CHERRY MERLOT WINE ICE CREAM! Paula Deen, one of my favorite chefs and a woman that doesn't worry about cutting any corners on taste has a simple but yummy recipe for Cherries Jubilee but we are going to kick Mrs. Deen's recipe up a notch.

Paula Deen's Cherries Jubilee

Ingredients:
1/2 stick butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 Tblsp corn starch
1 16-oz can pitted cherries (fresh or frozen)
1/4 cup of brandy
MERCER'S CHERRY MERLOT WINE ICE CREAM (this is where we take over - Paula needs to know about our ice cream & she will never use vanilla again!)

Directions: Drain cherries, reserving all the juice. Melt butter in a saute pan. Stir in cornstarch and sugar until smooth. Gradually stir in the reserved cherry juice. The mixture will thicken up. When it boils, pour in the brandy and turn off the heat. Light the brandy in the pan with a lighter or long match. When the flame dies down, stir in the cherries and serve over MERCER'S CHERRY MERLOT WINE ICE CREAM.

Who needs a toast when you have this to celebrate with! Cheers!

The ability to export our products all over the world continues to be a welcome challenge. We have a product unprecedented in the dessert world along with following the laws in each country we are exporting to, each country being unique in many ways. There is one common characteristic, people are excited to experience our products and their "WOW" reaction. I was recently made aware of a blogger all the way from Singapore that purchased our Port Wine Ice Cream at a Carrefour store and started chatting about it on line. Wegmans Offers Mercer's Wine Ice Cream

We are excited to announce that beginning August 21st, we will be launching at our 2nd NY Wegmans - the Pittsford location. We will be hosting our first tasting at the Pittsford store this Sunday, August 23rd from 11am to 2pm. We will also be sampling at the Wegmans Canandaigua location on the 23rd.

A few weeks ago, while Danny Wegman was shopping at the Canandaigua store, he stopped by our tasting station, tried the Peach White Zinfandel and put 2 pints in his shopping cart. I hope if you are near either of these locations you will come experience Mercer's Wine Ice Cream. I recently read a fun article in the June 2009 issue of Real Simple. We all finally have a reason to quit looking at the nutritional facts on ice cream. Real Simple gives you a reason to indulge guilt free! On page 242 of the June issue there is an article titled, "Calorie Expenditures That May Surprise You". Did you know that:

Scooping very cold ice cream burns 655 calories
Scooping very cold ice cream while fending off three children burns 727 calories

Need to unwind and thought a glass of wine will do - don't stop there. Instead, I strongly recommend that you have the best of both worlds...treat yourself to a pint of Mercer's Wine Ice Cream. From viewing video footage it is evident that Binghamton, NY had a blast at the 9th Annual Roberson Wine & Food Fest and Mercer's Wine Ice Cream was part of the excitement. We were so happy to meet so many new people along with seeing friends from last year. I know you are all still waiting for product to be available in your area. We can't stress how important it is for you to go to the customer service desk of your local grocer and request they carry Mercer's Wine Ice Cream - take that flyer you picked up at the event or go to our site and print off a new one! For you Wegmans' Shoppers, I have provided you with a link to their, "I want you to start carrying this product". We need your help Triple Cities. We want you to have Mercer's Wine Ice Cream 365 days a year not just once a year and yes, Mayor Ryan we would be honored to be a part of your re-election fund raiser. Florida Uncorks Mercer's Wine Ice Cream

Mercer's Wine Ice Cream made its Florida début at the 2009 Metropolitan Cooking & Entertaining Show in West Palm Beach. The "WOW" factor was in full effect as we sampled our 6 varietals non-stop on Saturday, March 28th for 9 hours and Sunday, March 29th for 7 hours. We ran out of fact sheets & business cards as people took this collateral stating, "I'm taking this information to my Publix/Whole Foods/Total Wine/Albertsons' manager to request they carry Mercer's Wine Ice Cream." As we said to so many of you over those 2 days, if you build it we will come...customer demand that is. We will get there with your help. A 'hottie' came up to the booth and said, "Are you kidding me, if you could add sex to this all of my needs would be satisfied." A woman said, "The Chocolate Cabernet Wine Ice Cream is so good I would like to bathe in it." What will they say next...this is where you come in.
